Resumen

En el trabajo se realiza una Evaluación Integral de las condiciones Geoambientales del Municipio Habana Vieja, en el contexto de su desarrollo económico-social, para obtener una correcta valoración del estado actual del medio ambiente. Para ello se realizó una recopilación de la información disponible en aspectos relacionados con la Geología, Geomorfología, Suelos, y otros componentes del medio físico, así como del medio socio-económico del Municipio. A partir de toda esta información se realizó el Diagnóstico Ambiental identificándose los principales problemas ambientales que lo afectan.

Las decisiones relativas al manejo y gestión de un territorio, altamente urbanizado y con una alta densidad de población, como es el caso del Municipio Habana Vieja tienen siempre una componente espacio-temporal, lo cual apunta a la necesidad de contar con una buena información cartográfica actualizada, que permita tomar decisiones apoyándose en el conocimiento de la realidad ambiental del territorio.

Fueron elaborados un conjunto de mapas temáticos que conformaron el Atlas Ambiental, donde se recopila por primera vez, de forma sistematizada, el estado actual del medio ambiente sobre una base cartográfica digital única y georreferenciada, que nos da la posibilidad de profundizar en las causas, condiciones y posibles vías de solución de los principales problemas ambientales y el manejo de desastres de causa natural o antrópica.

En el trabajo se ofrece un conjunto de recomendaciones que ayudan a la prevención, mitigación y corrección de los problemas ambientales existentes en el Municipio, lo cual se ha comenzado a materializar a partir de un sistemático trabajo de educación ambiental integral con todos los factores que intervienen en el quehacer del territorio, con énfasis en la educación de las nuevas generaciones y decidores del gobierno y los más importantes objetivos socio-económicos.

Abstract

It’s presented an Integral Evaluation of the Environmental Conditions in “Habana Vieja” Municipality in context of their socio-economic development, to obtain a correct valuation of actual state of environment here. It was made a data base of the available information in several aspects related with Geology, Geomorphology, Soils, and other components belong to the physical environment, as well as the socio-economic environment in the Municipality. From this information it was made the environmental diagnosis, being identified the main environmental problems that affect the municipality. Decisions relationships to the handling and administration of territories highly urbanized and with a high population density, like Habana Vieja, have a component time – space, pointing the necessity to have good cartographic information data, which allows make some decisions leaning on the knowledge of the environmental reality in this territory. It was elaborated a group of thematic maps supported in the Environmental Atlas, where it is gathered for first time in a systematized way, the current state of the environment over an unique digital cartographic base. It has given the possibility to deepen in causes, conditions, and possible solutions for the main environmental problems here and disasters handling from natural and anthropic causes. It’s offered in the paper, a group of recommendations that help to the prevention, mitigation and correction, of the existent environmental problems in the Municipality, which have begun to materialize from a systematic work of integral environmental education with all people who intervene in the daily life of the territory, with emphasis in the new generations and the government’s manager and the most important socio-economic objectives.
