Resumen

El municipio Batabanó es uno de los municipios con alto riesgo de su población, edificaciones, actividad económica, servicios públicos e infraestructura ingenieril que pudiera desencadenarse ante un evento de desastre con pérdidas humanas. Una condición necesaria para disminuir el riesgo a la población, es contar con una cartografía digital confiable para conocer de antemano los posibles peligros naturales y antropogénicos. Por tal motivo se confeccionó el Atlas Geoambiental del municipio Batabanó con el objetivo de expresar en formato digital toda la información cartográfica del entorno urbano y rural del municipio. Los sistemas de información geográfica (SIG) constituyen una herramienta por excelencia para la creación y el mantenimiento de una base de datos gráfica y alfanumérica. La base de datos del territorio montada en plataforma SIG, permitió organizar, procesar, transformar y transmitir la información del territorio en datos y formatos cuantitativos, cualitativos, lógicos y formales, para la adecuada orientación de políticas, estrategias y planes sostenibles medio ambientales en el marco del territorio. El Atlas Geoambiental del municipio Batabanó constituye una eficaz herramienta para la sistematización de conocimientos científicos, que permitan desarrollar el planeamiento ambiental. Es útil como medio transmisor de información para llegar a la población, permite la integración de los conocimientos con los mecanismos de participación directa y con el sistema educativo, haciendo posible la colaboración de todos los protagonistas en una Estrategia Ambiental única.

Abstract

The municipality Batabanó is one of the municipalities with its population’s high risk, constructions, economic activity, public services and rural and urban infrastructure that it could be unchained before a disaster event with human losses. A necessary condition to diminish the risk to the population, is to have a reliable digital cartography to know the possible natural and non natural dangers ahead of time. GIS. a reason the Environmental Atlas of the municipality Batabanó was made with the objective of expressing in digital format all the cartographic information of the urban and rural environment of the municipality. The systems of geographical information (SIG) it par excellence constitutes a tool for the creation and the maintenance of a graphic and alphanumeric database. The database of the territory mounted in platform SIG, allowed to organize, to process, to transform and to transmit the information of the territory in data and quantitative, qualitative, logical and formal formats, for the appropriate orientation of political, strategies and half environmental sustainable plans in the mark of the territory. The Environmental Atlas of the municipality Batabanó constitutes an effective tool for the systematizing of scientific knowledge that you allow to develop the environmental planning. It is useful as half transmitter of information to arrive to the population, it allows the integration of the knowledge with the mechanisms of direct participation and with the educational system, making possible the collaboration of all the main characters in an unique Environmental Strategy.
