Resumen

La presente investigación constituye una caracterización demográfica–ambiental y levantamiento del estado de los residuos sólidos y residuales líquidos que inciden en el saneamiento ambiental de la Cuenca Tributaria a la Bahía de La Habana, correspondiente al Consejo Popular Diezmero, del municipio San Miguel del Padrón. Se caracterizaron las condiciones físico−geográficas, hidrogeológicas del área de estudio y su influencia en la contaminación. Se estudiaron las características sociodemográficas y su incidencia en el saneamiento ambiental, referido a las formas de manejo y gestión de los residuos sólidos y residuales líquidos. Se identificaron y diagnosticaron el estado de los puntos de vertimiento que influyen en el buen desempeño del saneamiento básico, y su participación en la afectación de la contaminación de las aguas superficiales en el área de la cuenca perteneciente a dicho Consejo Popular, información que se aportó para la toma de decisiones en el territorio.

Environmental Demographic Characterization and Survey of the Status of Waste, in the Diezmero Popular Council, San Miguel del Padrón, Havana, Cuba

Abstract

The present investigation constitutes a demographic-environmental characterization and survey of the state of solid waste and liquid residuals to contribute to the environmental sanitation of the Tributary Basin to the Bay of Havana, as an essential requirement for its sustainable socioeconomic development. The physical-geographical and hydrogeological conditions of the study area and their influence on contamination by solid and liquid residuals in Havana Bay were characterized. The sociodemographic characteristics and their impact on environmental sanitation, referring to the forms of handling and management of solid waste and liquid residuals, were studied. The status of dumping points that influence the good performance of basic sanitation, and their participation in the affectation of surface water contamination in the area of the basin belonging to the Popular Council, were identified and diagnosed, information provided for decision making.
