Resumen

Los estudios ambientales han tenido como punto de partida diferentes unidades de análisis. En las últimas décadas han adquirido auge las investigaciones realizadas en cuencas hidrográficas, por constituir áreas con límites naturales definidos y funcionamiento sistémico, donde existe una interrelación de dependencia entre sus componentes. Utilizando como área de estudio la cuenca del río San Diego, en Pinar del Río y como procedimiento metodológico el definido en los estudios con enfoque geoecológico, se persigue como objetivo principal establecer los lineamientos ambientales que constituyan la base para su ordenamiento ambiental. Se llega a la propuesta de la zonificación funcional de las unidades de paisaje y se establecen los lineamientos ambientales con vistas a lograr el aprovechamiento óptimo de los recursos naturales y humanos existentes en la cuenca. Se concluye que no existe total correspondencia entre el uso actual y los potenciales y limitaciones de los recursos existentes y que esta situación, unida a los problemas ambientales, frenan el desarrollo de los principales sectores sociales y económicos.

Abstract

The environmental studies have had as starting point different analysis units. In the last decades they have acquired peak the investigations carried out in basins of rivers to constitute areas with defined natural limits and systemic operation, where a dependence interrelation exists among its components. Using the study area the basin of the river San Diego, in Pinar del Río and the methodological procedure defined in the studies with focus of Geoecologhía of the Landscapes the main objective is pursued the environmental limits that constitute the base for their environmental classification to settle down. Arrive to the proposal of functional areas of the landscape units and the environmental limits settle down with a view to achieving the good use of the existent natural and human resources in the territory. You concludes that total correspondence doesn’t exist between the current use and the potentials and limitations of the existent resources and that this situation, together to the environmental problems, they brake the development of the main social and economic sectors.
