Resumen

La caracterización del Medio Ambiente, la instrumentación de políticas, la elaboración de metodologías y la aplicación de técnicas para la conservación y protección, se ha convertido en los últimos años en uno de los problemas científicos de máxima prioridad de la comunidad internacional, por sus implicaciones directas en la conservación de la vida en la Tierra. Una importante herramienta para estos tipos de estudios lo constituyen los diagnósticos ambientales los cuales permiten identificar los principales problemas ambientales que afectan a un territorio además de actualizar la información referente a la situación del medio ambiente y los recursos naturales de una región.

En el presente trabajo fue realizada una valoración del estado actual del medioambiente con vista a mejorar la planificación y gestión ambiental en el territorio del Municipio Quivicán, describiendo de manera general los aspectos vinculados con el medio físico y el socioeconómico, permitiendo la identificación de los principales problemas ambientales que afectan al Municipio así como los principales peligros naturales y antrópicos a los que se exponen la población del territorio estudiado. Estos resultados poseen un marcado valor científico ya que por primera vez se contará con una nueva y valiosa información sobre el estado actual del medio ambiente de este municipio.

Abstract

The characterization of the environment, the instrumentation of political, the elaboration of methodologies and the application of techniques for the conservation and protection, has become the last years in one of the scientific problems of maximum priority of the international community, for their direct implications in the conservation of the life in the earth. The important tools for these types of studies constitute the environmental diagnoses which allow identify the main environmental problems that affect to a territory besides modernizing the information with respect to the situation of the environment and the natural resources of a region.

As main results was carried out a valuation of the current state of the environmental with view to improve the planning and environmental administration in the territory of the Municipality Quivicán, describing in a general way the aspects linked with the physical means and the socioeconomic one, allowing the identification of the main environmental problems that affect to the Municipality as well as the main natural dangers and anthropogenic to those that are exposed the population of the studied territory. These results possess a marked scientific value since for the first time will have new and valuable information on the current state of the environment of this municipality.
