Resumen

El patrimonio cultural tangible es un tema de gran importancia en Cuba como símbolo de identidad. Por tal motivo la investigación realizada de los recursos patrimoniales tangibles del Centro Histórico de La Habana, tiene como objetivo general evaluar los recursos patrimoniales tangibles del territorio para un intento de rescate de memoria tanto del patrimonio como de la identidad. Dicha investigación se realizó a la solicitud de la Oficina del Historiador de La Habana a la Facultad de Geografía de la Universidad de La Habana, para inventariar los recursos tangibles en el Centro Histórico de La Habana, que son considerados como patrimonio, con el propósito de confeccionar el Atlas del Patrimonio Cultural de la Zona de Protección Bahía de La Habana. Se utilizaron diferentes métodos de investigación: el método bibliográfico, el de observación, el método cartográfico y el documental. Además, se estudiaron las características geográficas de este territorio, su historia e importancia. Con la confección de los mapas se pudo conocer el comportamiento espacial de los recursos patrimoniales tangibles inventariados y su evaluación.

Tangible heritage resources in the historic center of Old Havana

Abstract

Tangible cultural heritage is a topic of great importance in Cuba as a symbol of identity. For this reason, the research carried out on the tangible heritage resources of the Historic Center of Havana, has as a general objective to evaluate the tangible heritage resources of the territory for an attempt to rescue memory of both heritage and identity. Said investigation was carried out at the request of the Office of the Historian of Havana to the Faculty of Geography of the University of Havana, to inventory the tangible resources in the Historic Center of Havana, which are considered as heritage, with the purpose of prepare the Atlas of the Cultural Heritage of the Bay of Havana Protection Zone. Different research methods were used: the bibliographic method, the observation method, the cartographic method and the documentary method. In addition, the geographical characteristics of this territory, its history and importance were studied. With the preparation of the maps it was possible to know the spatial behavior of the inventoried tangible heritage resources and their evaluation.
