Resumen

Algunos eventos naturales y humanos han tenido lugar en la línea costera de Rancho Luna y Pasacaballos y, aunque sus impactos no han sido evaluados, existen evidencias de transformaciones en la vegetación. Estos cambios fueron valorados mediante imágenes digitales de 1981, 2000 y 2004, con las que se confeccionaron mapas de coberturas empleando técnicas de teledetección. Se aplicó el Modelo de Markov a los años 1981 y 2001, combinado con la teoría de los Autómatas Celulares para predecir tendencias durante los próximos 20 años. Se obtuvieron índices paisajísticos que permitieron verificar que el huracán Michelle (4/10/2001) alteró la configuración espacial de los bosques a nivel de parches, demostrando la fragmentación de las coberturas boscosas y su relativa pérdida de diversidad. Se previó la tendencia a la expansión del monte seco en el territorio, mientras que el monte costero, considerado raro en el paisaje, tenderá a desaparecer.

Abstract

Some natural and human events have taken place in Rancho Luna and Pasacaballo coastline and its impacts have not been evaluated, but exist proofs that the vegetation have been changed, these changes have been evaluated by means of 1981, 2001 and 2004 digital images analysis, coverage maps were created using techniques of remote sensing. For the couple of years 1981 – 2001 the Markov’s model combined with the theory of the Automatons Cellular to predict the tendencies during the following 20 years, was applied. Landscape index were carried out in a detail search of the area, it could be established that the Hurricane Michelle (4/10/2001) altered the woodland spatial shape into a level of patches; It was demonstrated that the forests are fragmented with a relative loss of the diversity. It was foreseen a tendency of an expansion of the dry forest on the territory while the forest area of the coastline, which it is considered odd, will stretch for disappearing.
