CONVOCATORIA
Estimados colegas:
La Agencia de Medio Ambiente del Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente de la República de Cuba, de conjunto con otras entidades y organizaciones, tiene el gusto de convocar a investigadores, autoridades, educadores, especialistas, gestores, empresarios, profesionales, productores y demás personas de todo el mundo que trabajan por la sostenibilidad de nuestro planeta, a participar en la XII Convención Internacional sobre Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo que se realizará entre el 1 y el 5 de julio del 2019 en el Palacio de Convenciones de La Habana.
Las oncenas ediciones precedentes de este cónclave han logrado una participación de más de 9 000 personas, de los cuales aproximadamente el 50% corresponden a visitantes pertenecientes a más de 60 países de los 5 continentes.
Esta edición promoverá la cooperación entre los países, el intercambio de experiencias y prácticas sostenibles y la transferencia de conocimientos, así como el crecimiento económico sostenido e inclusivo, el desarrollo social participativo, la protección del medio ambiente y la dignidad del ser humano.
Se pretende que los debates enfaticen, asimismo, en la necesidad de que la nueva agenda de desarrollo tenga un carácter universal e integral, conscientes de que no existe un único modelo o receta de desarrollo.
La Convención estará organizada en varios eventos que cubrirán temas de gran vigencia: XII Congreso de Educación Ambiental para el Desarrollo Sostenible, XI Congreso de Áreas Protegidas, IX Congreso de Gestión Ambiental, VII Congreso sobre manejo de Ecosistemas y Biodiversidad, VI Congreso sobre Cambio Climático, IV Congreso de Política, Derecho y Justicia Ambiental, VII Simposio de Museos de Historia Natural, IV Simposio Ciencias de la Sostenibilidad, III Simposio sobre Riesgos de Desastres y Riesgos Climáticos, I Simposio de Ciencias de la tierra, el espacio y Clima espacial, I Simposio Conservación y uso sostenible de ecosistemas marinos, I Simposio Cuevas, Carso y Ambientes Subterráneos, VI Coloquio sobre Ordenamiento Ambiental del Territorio, IV Coloquio Regulación y Control Ambiental, IV Coloquio Transporte y Medio Ambiente, IV Coloquio de Manejo Sostenible de Tierras. Además, se presenta, al igual que en años anteriores, una Feria Expositiva Asociada de Tecnologías, Proyectos y Experiencias Ambientales.

ACTIVIDADES CIENTÍFICAS
En la Convención se incluyen conferencias magistrales y paneles generales, en los que participarán personalidades de organizaciones ambientales multilaterales, ministerios de medio ambiente y prestigiosos investigadores y profesores.
Los interesados en exponer sus contribuciones en los eventos que conforman la Convención lo realizarán por medio de ponencias orales y carteles. Las ponencias orales dispondrán por lo general de 15 minutos para la presentación y discusión y se organizarán según el tipo de modalidad para el que sea aprobado: paneles, mesas redondas y sesiones temáticas especiales. Las ponencias en carteles se expondrán en un área designada para la presentación de carteles, los cuales se presentarán en formato de 95 cm (ancho horizontal) y 150cm (largo vertical).
RESUMENES Y PUBLICACIÓN DE TRABAJOS
Los participantes interesados en hacer presentaciones, orales o en carteles, deberán enviar un resumen en idioma español, inglés o portugués al correo electrónico convencion@ama.cu con copia a los correos electrónicos de los contactos del evento específico en que propone realizar su exposición. En el cuerpo del mensaje de correo deberán indicar el congreso o coloquio en el que se desea exponer el trabajo y la forma de presentación propuesta. El interesado podrá solicitar al Comité Científico la modalidad de su presentación (oral, cartel); sin embargo, este se reservará el derecho de definirla y lo comunicará al autor oportunamente.
Cada trabajo tendrá asignado dentro del programa científico el día y la hora de su presentación. El autor estará presente a la hora señalada para responder posibles preguntas de los participantes.
Los resúmenes de participantes cubanos y extranjeros deberán enviarse al Comité Organizador antes del 28 de febrero del 2019. El Comité Organizador hará la selección e informará a los autores sobre los resúmenes aceptados antes del 31 de marzo de 2019, reservándose el derecho de decidir la forma de presentación, la cual será informada a los autores.
El Comité Organizador publicará los trabajos en extenso de los autores que lo deseen, en formato electrónico con ISBN, para lo cual los interesados deberán enviar los mismos, una vez comunicado la aceptación del resumen, antes del 20 de mayo del 2019. Los trabajos que lleguen después de esa fecha no se les garantizarán su publicación en las memorias del evento.
Normas para la presentación de los resúmenes:

En el caso de más de un autor, se pondrá nombre, país, institución, correo electrónico de cada autor.
Deberán presentarse en edición electrónica de texto y expresar de forma clara y breve los objetivos y el alcance del estudio, procedimientos básicos, métodos, principales resultados y conclusiones. No deben incluirse imágenes, tablas, fórmulas, símbolos complejos ni acrónimos en el cuerpo del resumen.
Se presentarán en Microsoft Word, utilizando fuente Arial 12 pts en papel tamaño carta con márgenes de 2.5 cm por los cuatro lados y con interlineado sencillo. El documento deberá estar salvado en Documento de Word y no podrá excederse de una página.
El cuerpo del resumen será de 250 palabras sin incluir el título ni los nombres de los autores. El tamaño de letra en este caso será de Arial 12 pts. y se escribirá en bloques con puntos y seguidos. No escriba la palabra RESUMEN en el mismo. Al final del resumen y con un espacio de 12 ptos se aportarán de 3 a 5 palabras claves.
Normas para la presentación de los trabajos en extenso:
Deberán presentarse en edición electrónica de texto con una extensión máxima de 20 cuartillas y 1 megabyte y mínima de 10 cuartillas. Al igual que los resúmenes, se presentaran en Microsoft Word, utilizando fuente Arial 12 pts en papel tamaño carta con márgenes de 2.5 cm por los cuatro lados.
Párrafos con interlineado sencillo, separados entre sí por 12 pto y sin sangría de primera línea, incluyendo texto, tablas, gráficos, figuras, mapas, notas de pie de página y referencias bibliográficas. Numeración de la página centralizada en la parte inferior de cada hoja.
En la primera página se repetirá el Resumen tal como se indicó en las normas de los mismos. En la segunda página se repetirá el título del trabajo y los autores y a continuación, se escribirán las otras partes del documento. Deberán incluir necesariamente introducción, conclusiones y referencias bibliográficas.
Las tablas, cuadros, gráficos, mapas, etc. deben estar insertados cerca de la referencia en el texto y correctamente numerados.
El Comité Organizador de la Convención no se hace responsable del contenido de las ponencias. Las contribuciones que no cumplan los requisitos serán eliminadas automáticamente y sin reclamación por los autores.

FERIA EXPOSITIVA ASOCIADA DE TECNOLOGÍAS, PROYECTOS Y EXPERIENCIAS AMBIENTALES
Objetivo:
La Feria está encaminada a promocionar, confrontar y mostrar productos, servicios, y tecnologías vinculados a la protección ambiental y el desarrollo sostenible, en las cuales se pretende que expongan organismos internacionales, organismos gubernamentales, empresas, universidades, centros de investigación, centros de servicios, organizaciones no gubernamentales, agencias turísticas, áreas protegidas, entre otras entidades comprometidas con la construcción de una sociedad sostenible a través de la mejoría de las relaciones consigo mismas, con el otro y con la naturaleza de la cual forman parte.
En la feria se podrán realizar lanzamientos de libros y materiales de apoyo a programas y proyectos ambientales, presentación de tecnologías sustentables, entre otras actividades. La Feria sesionará del 1 al 5 de julio de 2019 en el Lobby Principal del Palacio de las Convenciones de La Habana.

Dear colleagues:
The Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba, jointly with other entities and organizations, has the pleasure of calling researchers, authorities, educators, specialists, managers, entrepreneurs, professionals, producers, and others around the world working for the sustainability of our planet, to participate in the XII International Convention on Environment and Development to be held in July 1st to 5th, 2019 at Havana International Conference Center.
The previous editions of this conference have achieved a participation of over 9,000 people, being about 50% of them visitors from more than 60 countries on the five continents.
This edition will promote cooperation among countries, the exchange of experiences and sustainable practices and the transfer of knowledge; as well as sustained and inclusive economic growth, participatory social development, environmental protection and the dignity of the human being.
Furthermore, it is intended that discussions emphasize on the need for the new development agenda to have a universal and integrated character, being aware that there is no unique model or recipe for development.
The Convention will be organized in several events that will cover topics of great relevance nowadays: XII Congress on Environmental Education for Sustainable Development, XI Congress on Protected Areas, IX Congress on Environmental Management, VII Congress on Ecosystem and Biodiversity Management, VI Congress on Climate Change; IV Congress on Environmental Policy, Law and Justice; VII Symposium of Natural History Museums, IV Symposium on Sustainability Sciences, III Symposium on Disaster Risks and Climate Risks; First Symposium on Earth and Space Sciences, and Space Climate; First Symposium on Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Ecosystems; First Symposium on Caves, Karst and Underground Environments; VI Colloquium on Environmental Land Planning, IV Colloquium on Environmental Regulation and Control, IV Colloquium on Transport and Environment, and IV Colloquium on Sustainable Land Management. In addition, as in previous years, an Associated Exhibition on Environmental Technologies, Projects and Experiences will be presented.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES
The Convention includes key-note lectures and general panels, which will involve the participation of several personalities from multilateral environmental organizations, ministries of environment and prestigious researchers and professors.
Those interested in presenting their contributions at these events that are part of the Convention will do so through oral presentations and posters. Oral presentations will usually have 15 minutes for presentation and discussion. Papers will be organized according to the modality for which they are approved: panels, roundtables and special thematic sessions. Poster presentations will be made in an area designated for that purpose; poster format should be 95 cm (horizontal width) and 150 cm (vertical length).
ABSTRACTS AND PAPER PUBLICATION
Participants interested in making oral or poster presentations should send an abstract in Spanish, English or Portuguese by email to convencion@ama.cu, with copies to the emails of the contact persons for the specific event of interest. The email text should indicate the congress, symposium or colloquium in which the participant intends to present his/her paper and the proposed presentation type. The participant may request the Scientific Committee the type of presentation (oral, poster); however, the Committee reserves the right to define the presentation type and timely inform the author.
Each paper will be assigned the presentation day and time within the scientific program. The author should be present at the scheduled time to answer possible questions from participants.
Both Cuban and foreign participants should send their abstracts to the Organizing Committee before February 28, 2019. The Organizing Committee will select and inform the authors of accepted abstracts before March 31, 2019, reserving the right to decide the presentation type, which will be informed to the authors.
The Organizing Committee will publish full papers of the interested authors, in electronic format with ISBN, for which they should send their full papers once informed of abstract acceptance, before May 20, 2019. Publication in the memoirs of the event of papers arriving after this date is not guaranteed.

Abstracts must be submitted in electronic text format, expressing clearly and briefly the objectives and scope of the study, basic procedures, methods, main results and conclusions. Images, tables, formulas, complex symbols or acronyms should not be included.
They should be presented in Microsoft Word, using Arial 12 font in Letter page size, single-spaced and with margins of 2.5 cm on all four sides. The document should be saved in Word Document and may not exceed one page.
The abstract body should have 250 words excluding the title and author’s names. In this case, font size should be Arial 12 pts and text should be written in a block, using punctuation marks but without separating the paragraphs. Please, do not write the word ABSTRACT in the document. At the end of the abstract, at a 12-pt spacing, from 3 to 5 keywords should be provided.
Instructions for full paper submission:
Full papers should be submitted in electronic text format, with a maximum length of 20 pages and 1 megabyte, and a minimum of 10 pages. Likewise abstracts, papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word, using Arial 12 font and Letter page size, with margins of 2.5 cm on all four sides.
Paragraphs should be single-spaced, separated by 12-pt spacing, without first line indent, including text, tables, graphs, figures, maps, footnotes and bibliographic references. Page numbering should be centered at the bottom.
The abstract should be repeated on the first page, following the instructions for abstract submission. On the second page, the title and the authors should be repeated, followed by the other parts of the paper. They should necessarily include introduction, conclusions and bibliographic references.
Tables, charts, graphs, maps, etc. should be inserted near the reference in the text and properly numbered.
The Organizing Committee of the Convention shall not be responsible for the content of the presentations. Contributions that do not meet the requirements will be automatically eliminated and without claim from the authors.

ASSOCIATED EXHIBITION ON ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES, PROJECTS AND EXPERIENCES
Objective:
The Exhibition aims to promote, compare and display products, services and technologies related to environmental protection and sustainable development. It is intended to involve international organizations, government agencies, companies, universities, research centers, service centers, non-governmental organizations, tourist agencies, protected areas, among other entities committed to building a sustainable society through the improvement of relations among themselves, with others and with nature.
The Exhibition will also include launchings of books and support materials of environmental programs and projects, presentation of sustainable technologies, among other activities. It will be open from July 1st to 5th, 2019 at the Main Lobby of Havana International Conference Center.
